HELP! Did Your Hair Fall Out PP?
posted 29th Sep
What helped? How long did it last? How much did you lose?
When Logan turned about 3 months, I noticed that my hair was falling out. My hair is pretty much down to my ass crack, so long strands were everywhere - it was pretty noticeable.
Well, Logan is 4+ months now, and my hair is still falling out ... a LOT. A handful in the shower. A smurf load in my brush. I'm starting to see it becoming thinner ... and how could it not? It's coming out in loads.
I'm pretty freaked out. Help

Mine stopped falling out at about 6 months

Yeah it sucks.
When you are pregnant, all those wonderful hormones give you thick lucious locks....as the hormones clear out of your body, so do the pretty locks. UGH...I love pregnancy hair.

Yep! Extreme amounts. My hubby is so disgusted by it. It's slowed down a little bit. I still get crazy amounts but not as much as before and LO is 7 months old. My bathroom looks disgusting because there's always hair everywhere.

Yes, very normal. It is because of the change in hormones. Mine fell out in the corners of my hairline, kind of like how some men lose their hair. I now have baby hairs that have been trying to grow out for a year, still not long enough lol they drive me crazy.
But yeah I remember getting very freaked out at how much hair fell out. But its normal. And it will stop, don't worry

Are you bf? If so you might need more protein. But it is normal to loss a lot of hair after birth. Try taking a multi vitamin.

oh yes it will fall out and make you seem like you are goingbald its because you dont lose it while pregnant my DD is seven months old and its starting to slow back to normal again

My son is 5.5 months, and it's still falling out, not as much though. For the first couple months after I had him, it would come out in globs- I'm talking handfuls in the shower. I have long, thick hair too. Mine is just starting to grow back in, so now I have little spiky baby hairs all over my head

yeah mine did, it was crazy!
lots in the shower when i washed my hair!
i went to the DR at one point because i was feeling so run down & was anaemic, apparently hair loss is a typical sign for that.
it did resolve once i got my iron injections over the course of 5 weeks.

Nope, not BFing. Maybe I'll take a vitamin anyway?

Im 7 months pp and losing tons of hair I heard it can last up to a year.

Yup... I even had a receding hair line it was soo bad I was sooo embarrassed it was about 6-7 months pp when I started growing my hair back on the hairline, I'm 1 yr pp and I'm not losing more that 5-10 strand when I shower...

How, uh ... "bald" did you guys get before it started to slow down?
As in how thin did your hair get before it stopped?
I noticed that my hair is looking a LOT thinner lately ... and I'm afraid of how drastic it's going to look, since the amounts that I'm losing is pretty ridiculous
I'm thinking about trimming my hair shorter, too ... Maybe the length is weighing it down and making it fall out more?
I'm glad to see this is normal, but this sucks, man.
