Pumping
posted 29th Sep
I will be returning to work soon and will pump so baby can still have breast milk, right now he is only on the boob but has been introduced to a bottle. (doc wanted us to supplement to increase baby's weight, did it for a little bit and now just nursing him) So i have a few questions...
When do I pump? After i nurse him, a hour after i nurse him?
How many times do I pump a day? I only plan on working a max. of 7 hours, 2-3 days a week
any other advice would be appreciated TIA

I work full time, so i am away from my son for about 10 hours a day, 5 days a week. I pump twice while at work and that is enough to get him through the day. And it has been working out this way since he was 7 weeks, and he is now 8 months.

I pumped every 2-3 hours... I had to exclusivley pump with my 1st sooo I did that with all babies till they were around 6 months then started them on breast... *I know I'm backwards* lol
When u go to work nurse baby before pump every 2-3 hours at work and nurse when u get home and for bed time. Worked for us till 2 of mine were almost 1yr old...

I am breastfeeding as well and i pump after every feeding because the flow is better that way. & if you drink a glass of water while pumping it helps you make more milk that is what the pediatrician told me.
