Majority of women regardless of size are in excruciating pain the last month. You have a great doctor. Baby will come when he's ready

It's totally normal to be in the first stages of labor for days or even weeks. You don't want a premie (even a late term one). You'll feel worse if you see your newborn hooked up to tubes and IV's.

I had something similar happen with my last pregnancy, and I was high risk. At 36 weeks and 2 days my fluid levels were at 5, anything below and they would have induced on the spot. They were going to induce me the following Monday at exactly 37 weeks though, but I drank water and rested like there was no tomorrow, I managed to get my fluid levels back into the safe zone. I was also 3 cm dilated at the time.

That too, drink a ton of water and relax.

The last month is excruciating for a lot of women, regardless of size.
I know a woman who is 4'8“ and she delivered two 9+ pound babies vaginally and honest to god she never complained of being uncomfortable. On the other hand, my brother's ex is 6'2", had a 7lb baby and was absolutely miserable for the last two months and in horrible pain.

Your doctor is actually doing the right thing. Number one, in most states, they have to wait to do an induction until 39+ weeks unless there are serious issues. Number two, even though you're miserable, those last 4 weeks are so, so crucial to the final development of the lungs and for fine tuning necessary reflexes like sucking.

It sucks, but you really have no choice but to wait it out unless the fluid levels go to low or develop some kind of complication. Make sure you keep track of fetal movements. I know a decrease in fetal movement is especially dangerous when your fluid levels are too high or too low.
