Lol I had this happen before with my 2.5 yr olds. They would wake up, go close my door so I don't hear them and knock down the kitchen gate and take things out of the fridge. I put latches on the cabinets and they still open them. Now I put a towel over my door so they can't close my door and I could hear them. But as for safety, I pretty much made my house as baby proof as possible and let them in the kitchen often to kill their curiosity. Now they just wake up and come and snoop into my room and touch my things lol
