What time of day

posted 29th Sep
Is best to workout? I workout in the morning, I can stick to that, then its out of the way for the day. But ive herd theres research that says morning excercise increases ris of heart attack, is less efficient, and its better to workout in the afternoon. I cannot do it in the afternoon, I have all day to talk myself out of it and I just obsess about it all day till I get it over and done with. After reading that its bad in the morning, is it even worth working out?

I'd imagine it's better than not doing it at all.

Yeah, I heard the same thing about working out at night.   Working out at any time of the day is just fine.

Well most heart attacks occur in the morning hours after waking up due to rise in blood pressure anyway if you workout late in the evening you can't sleep it's better to workout than not too

Yeah, any kind of exercise at night just hypes me up, I have enough trouble sleeping as it is!

If you're going to work out at night, do it at least 4 hours before you go to bed (if you have sleep issues). Exercise is a stimulant and will keep you awake:

Some studies suggest that morning is most ideal for weight loss "We now think that if you fast in the morning, the body is voraciously burning up fat, so that when you exercise after that it continues to use fat. So exercise in the morning is the optimal time to lose fat," says Associate Professor Boutcher.

But really, I think any time of day works as long as you're exercising!

No worries

If anything, I would think it would be more beneficial since you burn calories long after you finish exercising. That in conjunction with a healthy, nutritious breakfast to kick start your metabolism would be an ideal mix for weight loss.

Hmm, I have a small bowl of cereal half an hour before working out, if I dont eat as soon as I wake up I get low blood sugars and feel super dizzy

No, that's good! Eating first thing breaks the fast and is good for your body. As long as the cereal isn't high in sugars, you're fine!

Sorry I meant exercising in the morning is a good thing, combined with eating a healthy breakfast, it's probably dynamite!
