Shared death experience?

posted 28th Sep
I don't know how common this is but a book about it has been written by Raymond Moody. Basically a shared death experience is when family members or friends of the dying person actually briefly journey into the beyond with the departing soul and experience the incredible joy and bliss of the soul as it goes into the light. When they return from the experience they are changed forever. This is the same as a near death experience except these people are not near death nor in any life threatning situation. Here is a 2 hr video and I don't expect anyone to actually watch the whole thing in order to comment but those who are interested might very much enjoy this. The video is an audio of coasttocaost am in which Raymond Moody was a guest. What do you think about shared death experiences? Is it real? Here is the link

I believe so.

About six years ago my close friend's mother died in a car crash. Her toddler was with her and he broke several bones and passed out. When he woke up in the hospital his first words were "mommy is in heaven"

That's really neat. It probably gives that person a sense of peace.

Sounds like he had an nde or shared death experience. though he may not consciously remember it. Most likely he went with her to the light and then returned to his body. If he current shows signs of being wise beyond his years he probably did have the experience. One of my favorite nde stories was about a fireman who almost died which was before his child was born. He went toward the light through the tunnel but was led back to his body by the soul of his not yet born daughter.

I haven't experienced that but I have experienced something kind of similar but not really...
Several years ago my sister and I were taking classes at the same college and one day in the middle of class I got the most depressing feeling out of nowhere, so bad I couldn't even stand to be in the room so I went out to my car to wait on my sister. When I got to my car my sister was already there and said she had a horrible feeling and we decided to go home. We both went to sleep on my couches when we got to my house and I began to dream about my brother. My brother was an Army medic in Iraq. I dreamed he came home and was standing in my living room. It was so real that when my husband came home and woke me up they said it took several minutes for me to come out of the dream and realize it wasn't my brother standing in front of me. My sister said I just kept calling him Alex (my brother's name). Anyways, the next morning we found out that my brother had been killed at around the same time that my sister and I had left school the day before. Alex and I had always had a kind of telepathic relationship.
I didn't get to go to heaven with him or anything like that but I believe he did tell me good bye and the next night he came to me in a dream and told me that he was happy in heaven and that this was the way things were supposed to be. Maybe it was just my subconsious but it was all very real to me.

Thank you for sharing that. I believe it was your brother coming through to you in the dreams. Dreams can serve as gateways to a higher plane and people who have passed can comminicate via dreams

That's so amazing. I'm glad you were able to see him again. Sorry about your loss though

Check out the book "Hello From Heaven!" (1995) by Bill & Judy Guggenheim.

They were the first one in the modern day to document and categorize ADCs (after-death communciations). Yours would fall in the "dream-state" category which is probably the most common type. The "dream that wasn't a dream" and which felt "realer than real"...........

ADC stories have been reported throughout all recorded history, and these days there are many books and many people doing the research.

Also check out 2 fantastic sites by Dr. Jeffrey Long and his wife, one on NDEs and another on ADCs:

www.NDERF.org

www.ADCRF.org

You can spend *days* reading first-hand accounts of peoples experiences. There's nothing better than hearing it right from an experiencer's mouth! They also have a site devoted to OBEs (out-of-body experiences), www.OBERF.org.

Jeff Long is one of my favorite researchers. His appearances on coastocoast radio were fantastic
