Potty Training.

posted 28th Sep
My 2 year old tells me when she has to poop. I take her to the bathroom and we could sit there forever! And she won't poop. BUT when I put her diaper back on, she'll poop! How do I get her to stop this and just go on the potty?! She'll keep holding it until she gets off the toilet and I don't want to leave her on there TOO long because it might hurt her butt sitting there too long.

My daughter was doing the same thing (but with both #1 and #2). I just put the diaper back on and I'll try again in a few months.

Sorry I couldn't be more helpful

I dont think there is a TOO long for sitting on the potty but I cant be too sure about that. My son is turning 4 next month and only now just starting to go pee on the potty. He still has BMs in his underwear and or diaper because he wars diapers for bedtime and nap time to prevent major accidents and clean up until he learns to wak himself up. Its just something she has to do. Its all about relaxing and being confortable on the potty if she isnt comfortable sitting there then she isnt gonna try. If she is comfortable and cool and collected and continues to hold it then goes in a diaper I have no idea how to approach that. I am just grateful my son is finally using the potty. Next step is to get himn to do his BMs on the potty. I wish you the best of luck and if you figure out a trick plz let me know. Because my Lil man wont let me know when he has to poop he just goes.

I have the 3day potty training book. I could email it to you if you want. I started potty training my son at 2years 3 weeks and he was fully trained in the 3 days. It really works.

How would potty training in 3 days work if their BM's are never at the same time and arent very solid??? Thats our problem. If he had a time when he usually had them I would try and sit him on the potty every day around that time but his are never consistent.

Thank you, I have that book though =) I can't get the 3 days off in a row at work to do it and I know if I let SO do one day he won't do it right LOL. He still washes cloth diapers wrong and I've told him millions of times how to do it so I don't trust him with this haha

Put her in underwear! My son was 25 months, and one day I put him in underwear. He had one accident a day for a week and that was it. He's still in diapers at nap and bedtime, but we're working on that...but seriously--see if putting her in underwear helps.
