oh gosh.. well im sure you will be fine, you dont have to cuss, just let htem know that you know your rights and you can BF anywhere and you even whip the tit out and be protected...

BUT i think any privately owned place can technically ask you to leave for whatever reason..if that happens.. im going to "bama for a nurse in. lol

I worry that if they did call the police, I'd get an ignorant officer that didn't know the law. Thankfully, a good friend of mine is the Deputy of our county, and he would be happy to come explain the law.

You don't have to be rude. You jut have to respectfully say "the Alabama state law allows me to braastdwes my child here but thanks for you concern".

You would think so, but from what I can tell, their reason is that one should be modest and not use boobs for baby feeding because it isn't modest.

Well, that would be a learning moment for that officer.

I wouldn't necessarily be rude unless it came to the point where I told them I legally did not have to leave, and they tried to force me to leave anyway. I don't think it would come to that point, but I've heard of it happening.

I think you're all over thinking it and being paranoid. I would almost bet money that NOBODY will say one word I'd u have the baby in the wrap. Most people dust Ben notice I was even Bfing.

They think the boob shouldn't be used to feed a baby bc it isn't modest? WTH! Then what do they think the boob is ACTUALLY for? Dirty magazines?!?!

You hear of it happening because of course it makes big news when it happens. But really it is a long shot and rARELY ever happens.

Oh I doubt anything is going to happen, but my grandma is going with us, and she's dead set that someone is going to say something to me. My step dad also insists that I legally can't feed her in public. So I figured it wouldn't hurt to print out the law just to show that I can't be kicked out for bfing.

You can print it but the more confidently and comfortably You do it the less looks you'll get. If you're all flustered and nervous then you stick out and people stare.

Thats crazy that we even have to justify(even to grandma) what is natural and has been since the beginning of time. Heck women use to have jobs as wet nurses. You are not some pervo, or exhbitionist (are you?) jk. Ive been nursing everywhere and people who ever did stare I just looked them in the eye and they look away like Awkward. You do have the right to nurse your child jokes aside. If you are really uncomfortable doing it find a nook and bring a blanket and put your stroller in front. I nursed in church before and sat on the front row in hubbys parents church talk about hilarious. The baby was making all these slurping swallowing sounds and they were praying. People need to get over it and respect your personal space if they care. Kids don't care at all they are always running and talking and picking boogers. LOL. Good luck

PS I feel bad that your family is not being supportive, they should know that your nurse and if they want you to come baby comes too. Don't let them get in your head. If you are not having a peep show every time you nurse no one will probably ever pay attention. They are really blowing it out of proportion. Instead of Hawk eyeing you they could just stand beside you or help provide coverage while their grandbaby has lunch. Ask them which they prefer a screaming newborn or a discreet nursing session. Hmm.? decisions decisions.
