How much to charge for a handmade blanket?

posted 28th Sep
How much would you be willing to pay for a handmade crochet baby blanket, from super soft material? What would be the most you would pay?

How much would you pay for a child blanket, and adult size?

I'm thinking about selling my blankets but have no idea what to charge

Depends how good you are.. my step mother is like a master crafter and can sell baby blankets 50 bucks easy..

But they are usually very involved.

I think ot depends on fabric, pattern and talent.

I'm semi starting out but venturing out with what I can do. The yarn I'm using for my daughters blanket I can easily say would be 30 bucks at most, depending on how much these two skeins actually produce. The yarn is on sale too. But it is going to be huge... lol I wanted it to grow with her. I like big blankets

So I know it varies a lot, but just wondering what most people would pay. This is mindless work to me and I can sit and watch TV and crochet. I am getting smurf hours at work and might watch my daughters friend that is a hellion, so crocheting while she's here would keep me sane ;) I just would have no idea on what to charge. I'd at least cover the cost of materials, but don't know how to upcharge for time I used making it, ya know? I'll post a pic of Lily's blanket when I'm done... it's a super soft rainbow blanket then I think I will add a fuzzy yarn trim.

Honestly, I would never pay more than $20 for a baby blanket. I bought most of the ones I have from Wal-Mart for $10 each. I have 2 really nice handmade one's but they were a gift.

See Lily's is going to cost more than 20 alone. The yarn is super soft, rainbow, and not all itchy. I can make them super cheap but the yarn isn't high quality. You can buy them of course, but for a handmade crochet blanket made to your liking (colors, trim, maybe ribbons weaved through) it costs a lot more than a simple blanket from say Walmart.

Smurf, that's insane, lol. I would never charge that much, I am just thinking about materials and time. But my time isnt worth 500, unless that blanket is spun out of gold thread ;)

I paid 45.00 for a minky blanket. I think if its really nice, I dont mind paying the 45.00. Im the type of person who likes to keep certain things for keepsakes so 1000 cheap walmart blankets wont compare to my handmade blankets
