Educational advice?

Hi mommas!

So I need some advice on school (choosing a career)..

I've always wanted to work in the health care field. I just completed the health care aide certificate (I believe it's called nursing attendant in the states) and I was originally planning on upgrading to an LPN shortly after however I've been doing some research and comparisons on other jobs available and came across the Respiratory Theapist career. It's two years for the LPN and three years for the RT. the wage for an LPN ranges from $22 to $31 and the RT is $34 to $50. There is a high demand for both careers and the requirements are almost identical (only difference is I need Chemistry 12 with 60%). It's a toss up for me because I have people telling me all different things and I would love your guys help because for the most part it isn't biaist opinions :-)

Have you or do you know someone in those positions? How do they or you feel about it and what are your experiences.

the first year of college is usually all general courses. if they are pretty close i would just start them and decide wich major you want to continue after learning some more about each. you could ask some health care facilities in the area about job shadowing to see what each has to offer.

I know in the states.. RT jobs are hard to come by. Everyoen I know who went to school for it was told it would be easy to get a job.. and found it's not true.

Hospitals hire many nruses.. and few RT's. Nursing homes, clinics, home health etc, all hire nurses.. and NO RT's.

What about RN?
