Losing a friend *question also*

A few days ago, one of my friends died in an accident. Driver was speeding, car lost control and he died on impact. Him and I were friends for about 3 31/2 years. We hung out like twice, and the most of the time we always talked on msn because my ex didnt like me hanging out with guys and i didnt feel like getting yelled at. My friend understood this. Like 2 weeks ago my friend and i were talking about how my ex treats me, he was alwyas there for me to make me feel better, and telling me i deserve better. He was telling me about his new girlfriend and her 2 kids, and how he was happy living with them.

Anyways point is, i never met any of his family or any friends because we really only talked on msn after the first year. Im just wondering would it be weird if i went to his wake? Im really upset about losing him since he was such a positive person in my life, and id like to say goodbye and give my condolences to his family. Im just nervous aboiut not knowing anyone there. The most ive ever "met" of his family was when me and him were talking on webcam once his aunt walked by and said how cute my baby was.

id go. regardless he meant something to you, tahts all that should matter.

If you think he would've wanted you there then go. Unless they are doing a really small quiet wake with only family, no one is gonna look at you funny at all. Your going to pay your respects.

They are doing a wake for family and friends. Im just really awkward around people i dont know so im nervous lol.

Just go. If anyone asks, just say you've been friends for a few years and he was a very positive person in your life. He would probably want you there.

I'm the same way. My husband calls me anti-social, and he isnt really wrong lol. Its ok to be nervous, just remember, your doing the right thing.
