It's your choice.

Your decision. My son was circumcised and this LO be circumcised as well. There are pros and cons to both but research and do what you feel is right for your LO regardless of any one elses opinion. Good Luck

I circumcised one son and the complications made me research and not circumcise the other. I wouldn't, but you should definitely do your own research.

Just make sure they cut off all the foreskin or it may cause problems re-adhereing to the head of the penis.

Make more research about it first before circumcision. I didn't do my research, and I regret letting my newborn son being circumcised. I wish I could turn back time. I watched a video of how they do regular hospital circumcision and I cried. I can't believe I allowed this. I am not Jewish and there was no medical reason to cut him. His penis head is already dried up and he has penile adhesions. He is now 1 year old and we have to keep retracting his penis and still put ointment every day! As far as numbing, they can't use anesthetic on newborn. All they can do is to give him sugar pacifier. So he will definitely feel the pain. I feel very guilty now

If it were me, no. I would never do that to my child. It is not necessary and torture for the infant.

They most certainly DO use anesthesia.

It's a decision only you and your spouse can make. My son was 3 weeks old when his was done. He didn't even cry during the procedure. You can do it while they are in the hospital or wait or not do it at all. We couldn't get it done in the hospital b/c I delivered over a holiday week. It was easy to care for and there were no complications.

Many doctors still don't despite the recommendations that they should.

Then you find one that does. It isn't hard. MOST do. My pediatrician used both topical and local.

Research it then make your decision. Nobody here can tell you what to do. It's your choice.

No, there are real risks to it, and no benefits. I have a link on the sexual benefits as well, but be warned, it's pretty explicit and NSFW. It's just a lot of pain for no good reason - and yes he'll feel pain, even if there's anaesthesia offered. Sugar water's been proven useless, EMLA's contraindicated based on the package insert (and inadequate anyway), a dorsal nerve block is inadequate - the only thing that will make a difference is a ring block of lidocaine injections and that still means multiple injections in his tiny penis. Once those wear off, he'll have a cut penis sitting in a dirty diaper, and full healing - including keratinisation to prevent adhesions - can take a year or more. Doctors stopped doing circs where I live about 35-40 years ago. My husband's intact and his penis works very well, and so are my son's & brother's (although I never want/need to know how well those work, thankyouverymuch).
