Ah, ok. Legit reason. I really like tre/trey as a nickname for the third born.
But, the other part of my comment still stands. You've given him a nickname so they probably think you are cool with it. Besides Speedy is really cute.

Aww he will be fine. I call my kid J.D., Jordan, butthead.. he knows what his real name is.

Oh ok lol. But the name he'll be called/have to write in school isn't going to be Tre either.

ETA I see what your concern is though. My name is Jacqueline and my mother didn't want anyone shortening it to Jackie when I was younger. Obviously as I got older it became my choice. I'm sure it will be fine!

Get over it. My mom has tons of nicknames for my kids and so do I. Nicknames are normal for little kids.

He won't be confused.
My 5 y/o knows she's Fiona, but she's also answered to Goose (our nickname for her) and Mouse (what her grandpa's always called her).
She's never introduced herself as Goose or Mouse, and gets mad if you call her by her nickname in public ("My name is Fiona!!!!" and then she stamps her foot, hah).

He'll be fine, both are cute nicknames.

....so youre mad that theyre not using the same nickname that you do? Wtf?

I don't see an issue at all.

I'm 29 and my grandpa on my dad side still calls me Cathy....my name is Cassandra lol now if that was the case then its an issue. But grandparents like nn for grandkids.

My parents call DD who is.10 hazard cause she is clumsy and hardly ever use her real name...Tatyana. it's what family does use nn. Lol

suck it up and acknowledge they are probably right.

Also, stop whining because grandparents get the privilege of calling their grandkids anything they want.
