My water broke! Now if only labor would start..

And I haven't had any contractions! >.< Seems like I'm repeating my last labor story, except this time I'm not taking crap from people in the medical field or submitting to what they tell me I "have" to do.

Yesterday i was really upset about it and today I'm just kinda letting it all roll off of me. The leak is slow, so I'm going to just keep going as long as i can with ruptured membranes. If it seals off, then great. If not, then i guess I'll be having a baby soon. I'm not getting induced. I sent some e-mails back and forth with my midwife and I am determined as hell to have this baby at home! She isn't going to fight me or make me go in unless I'm showing signs of infection. I don't care if my water is broken a week before I get any contractions. Hopefully labor either picks up soon or my sac seals up. It's frustrating to be so uncertain. But I can do this. ^__^

I wasn't really given a chance last time. :-\
my MWs made it sound like it was urgent to go in within 12 hours for induction. This time I'm fighting it if i have to, tooth and nail.

OMG DARAH! He's gonna be here soon? Ahhhhh this is so exciting. First roch, then you.

Good luck with everything! I wanted to labor at home but unfortunately my water broke while I was IN the hospital and everything went fast from there, so I ended up miserable in the hospital. This time I'm having a home birth as well

Thats exactly what happened to me, and it ended with an emergency c section and a baby in the nicu. We wont be doing any of that this time

Woo! Another home birth mama.  
I am not putting much faith in my body at this point just because of what happened last time. Hopefully things are at least better than last time.

Since it's your second baby hopefully your body will know a little better what to do.

You should go for a walk! Once my water broke I walked for like a half hour (around the hospital) and it made my contractions start because before that I hadnt had any, not even BH.

I have taken a couple, but nothing is happening. For now I'm trying not to tear the membranes anymore than they are as i'd like to keep the leak slow until I start getting some real contractions. :-( Plus 37 weeks just seems so early for me. It's actually my third live birth, so I'm hoping my body can figure it out. :-\

I was just about to see if you had posted anything yet. I was hoping things were going for you by now. You have more guts then I do to stick it out. I really hope you get your home birth like you want. Im crossing fingers and toes for ya.
