Still no labor, and still some slight leaks. It's been this way since Wednesday but it's at least not coming out in gushes like it was on Wednesday and yesterday. If it hasn't sealed all the way, it's at least sealed most of the way. I've been watching for fevers and taking precautions to avoid infections. I woke up last night feeling hopeful as I had felt really crampy and kinda sick.. but of course it was nothing. :-(

You're doing great darah! Hopefully it seals itself and you can keep going until your body is more ready!

If not, you will have a healthy, happy little boy a little sooner than expected <3 good luck!

I still hasn't sealed :-( I'm not losing much fluid, and I'm staying super hydrated.. I mean drinking probably a gallon a day pf water. We have been checking growth and my uterus is still growing well. My body temperature is still where it should be and I'm feeling okay about things however they turn out.

Any updates? Sorry for being lurky, but I saw this post a few days back, and wanted to check in and see how you were doing. (I had DS#2 more than 3 days after my water broke.)

I am guessing it sealed?? I didn't notice anything during the day at all today. I slept like a rock last night so who knows if possibly something happened. My midwife was busy attending 4 births in a row between yesterday and today so I didn't have the chance to go talk to her. I am keeping my fingers crossed about the leak. I've noticed if I bend forward (like topick something up off the ground) then that is when I get the gushes the worst so I've been avoiding doing that altogether. It's been almost a week so I hope everything is good at tomorrow's appointment. Luckily in Colorado there is no law about having to induce within a certain time frame for ruptured membranes.

How long did you go with your water broken? Did you get induced or did labor seem to start on it's own after a few days?

Glad to hear things are going well! Keep us updated after your appointment tomorrow.

I am probably telling you things you already know, but drink tons of water and refuse internal exams. After your membrane ruptures, the risk of infection increases dramatically after the first internal exam, and then continues to increase with each subsequent exam.

After my membrane broke, my midwife let me go 3 days without any internal exams, but, she made a deal with me that after the first internal, I had 24 hours to go naturally. To get my contractions going, I did acupuncture, castor oil, and nipple stimulation (all at my MW's suggestion).

Ultimately, I didn't get the natural birth experience that I wanted, but I did have a perfectly healthy baby boy, with 10/10 apgars, about 3 and a half days post-rupture.

Nice! I will update again tomorrow. With my last birth my water broke and the midwives sent me in less than 12 hours later to be induced. i was so heartbroken. :-( i didn't even know I had another choice.

This one is not concerned or worrying about it for the time being. I made it clear I'd fight her! lol. She's a home birth midwife and the care is so much different than the past few practices I've visited. She is awesome though, totally hands-off. Doesn't make me do tests that I'm uncomfortable with. The cervical exams were one of the first things we talked about and I had told her I really wasn't cool with them. So we've had an agreement since the beginning that she will not do ANY cervical exams. :-)

It's been wonderful, she really puts me in charge of my own care.

She is! Never have had a midwife who gives me hugs when she sees me or says goodbye or who texts me to see how I'm feeling or brings me vitamins from the store. It's a totally new experience.

Not entirely sure what's up with my waters. Haven't felt any trickling or gushes in quite awhile. Maybe a baby soon, otherwise I'm not counting on it.
