which do you think is better?

we have an old electric stove that uses so much electricity and my SO doesnt realize it he just pays the bill without question.

so I want to know which one is better before i just buy a new one.

Gas heats up better and more evenly. Electric freaks me out less.

Electric stoves take way longer to heat things up too.

I prefer gas. We have electric tho  

Gas means an added bill... probably better off getting a new electric stove

What about the cost? Is there a huge difference?

When we had gas we were paying more.

Here with just electric we are paying less.

Food cooks the same, actually better here on electric because it doesn't burn as easy.

I pay more for my gas stove than I did with electric. But to me it's worth it.

For me, gas stoves are better. My food comes out way better on gas stoves. I can't stand electric stoves.

do you already have gas heat?

I have no idea WHICH is better, BUT, I know what stove I want when I finally get a kitchen I can remodel...

We had both. With gas we obviously bought propane and it was expensive but that included our heat too. And now we have everything electric. Electric heats up faster in my opinion. Can't say I taste a difference. Like someone else said electric scares me a little less.

Gas! I'd never own anything else.
