Non Vaccinating Religious....

Did you mama's that signed the religious exemption form have to get a signature from a church official first? I've heard of this happening and I know they can't technically ask that for lawful reasons and that you can be self practicing. I just wonder how many of you got out of that by pressing the unconstitutional issue or did you get it signed?

nope, i just checked a box that said religious reasons.

That's just a ploy to force you to vaccinate. When I was in school, my mom didn't want me getting the Hep B (I fought against it) and they said she would have to go to court.   But legally they can't make you do that. Just tell them no, it's against your rights, blah blah blah. Threaten a lawsuit if they're pushy.

I had a friend literally crop out that section by putting it in word; they didn't even bat an eyelash. I'm all too familiar with their scare tactics. I was told by my pediatrician that unless my son was vaccinated he would no longer be welcome there; and that he would not be able to find another doctor to see him. I laughed in her face and left. Made ONE phone call to a new Pediatrician and he said he would be delighted to see my non vax'd child.   So they can go suck a smurf IMO. I'll be the first person to threaten a violation of rights if they press me about it.

My son got kicked out of his pediatrician for not being vaccinated and I was like okay, found a new doc and then stopped his well-baby checkups anyway.

I was prepared to do this as well. You can weigh and measure them at home and google the growth chart. Obviously one can tell if their child is behind in growth and then can address it from their. Well Baby is just a vaccination schedule anyway. My LO has a hard time putting on weight so i'd like to continue with them for a bit just to make sure he's okay

Well my "baby" was 18 months when I stopped taking him. So I wasn't really as worried.

There ya go. Mine is 15 months. So it wouldn't really hurt my feelings either.

First, my two oldest are in school and neither are vax'ed. During their registration I just asked for the religious exeption form, and all I had to do was sign it for each child and have it notorized. No one asked me anything. Though I will say, I'm from Louisiana where practically NO child get vax'ed, or does flu shots or any of that crap. Now my kids are in school in DC - they are more strict here, and I did get told by one pediatric office that they wouldn't see my kids without them being vaccinated. I did the same thing though - just found another doctor. All 5 of my kids have the same dr. now and none of them have been vaccinated.
Second, maybe also because of louisiana's laxed healthcare attitude, I never really found well-baby check ups necessary, and they weren't ever really pushed. I'd bring them in for the first two, check for jaundice and other off-the-bat newborn stuff, have them as established patients in case something did go wrong, but that was pretty much it. No one ever gave me any grief about it, though I'm wondering if they will up here in DC (this will be my first birth up here).

Thanks for the info mama! I was born and raised right outside of DC, they have some of the strictest vaccination laws out of all the states. Good luck
