5 weeks! (pics)

posted 26th Sep
So, I'm 5 weeks today (yep, there'll be one of these each week. you have been warned). And, yes, I get that I'm not showing. But, I take weekly pictures and since I'm fighting to stay pregnant every single day, I'm celebrating making it one more week with a thread and a photo and such. Enjoy!

A little more bloated than last week---can you tell I'm craving salt   And, yes, my pants do still fit, but you can't see the bloat-bump unless I pull them down.
LAST WEEK:
THIS WEEK

My boobs hurt, I want to barf, have heartburn ALL evening long, have sinus issues, vaginal snot galore, tired (which is super fun since my son doesn't nap), I'm bloating like its cool, I've gained 2 lbs from constipation and bloat combined...which is ridiculous! My face is breaking out mildly (I normally have very clear skin), my hands and skin are CRAZY dry (which is a really weird symptom, but its been since I got my BFP or thereabouts!) and my hair is a little greasy looking...but even with the mild breakouts and the slightly greasy hair, I think I look BETTER than normal   I was cleaning and caught sight of myself in the mirror today and went "Holy smurf, I usually look a LOT worse when I'm in my sweats wielding Windex and rags" Weird!

I'm also a straight bitch, have no patience, and am starving but want NOTHING in the world to eat, so I eat a little of everything and still never feel satisfied or enjoy it :/ But at least eating keeps the barifness down to minimums.

And I have pink discharge (due to progesterone vag-bullets) and mild cramping (the normal stuff), and progesterone headaches.

First ultrasound is in exactly 2 weeks and I'm MORE than ready for it. Counting down the days is gonna kill me, I swear.

Can't wait til there's more to see than bloat. Just gotta get through a little at a time. Just gotta pray the progesterone does the trick and keeps me knocked up so you all can watch my freaky belly take over my whole body like it did with DS1---and watch me enjoy every last second of it as much as humanly possible (considering my paranoia).

How cute!
You might think I'm such a creep, but when I first joined BG you were in a thread with me and I read your birth story and it just broke my heart. I'm just so happy for you!
And it must be awesome to have all those symptoms, in a weird sort of way

Thanks.

Most of the time the bloat goes down gradually as my belly increases, so around week 7-8 I'll poke it and go "Um, that isn't all bloat" and by 10 weeks its really firm. Wondering if the timeline will be similar this time too.

By 10 weeks strangers know I'm pregnant, so we're announcing around Halloween if we make it that far without any problems.

I don't mind the symptoms at all (except the headaches because I know its not a real pregnancy symptom, but just the medication and because it is freaking annoying when you have a loud 3 year old who likes to spend all his time outside playing in the sunshine!)

Blah, I bet.
Do you have to take it your whole pregnancy, or is it a first trimester thing?

My cousin's wife had to take progesterone the first 12 weeks, but idk if it's like that for everyone.

Thanks! I've lost 20lbs since the last time I was pregnant, so its nice to feel a little confident in posting bare-belly pics. My early bloat looks totally different than it did last time! I'm like "Who cares if I've got stretchies? I'm skinny, bitches!" haha. Well, not skinny---20 more to go after I get another healthy baby, but definitely not fat anymore. So I'm gonna enjoy it ;)

I do pills til 12-14 weeks at least, then start injections at 16 weeks. Not sure if they'll have me keep going with pills til I start injections or wean me off until I start them.

The pills (which go in my vagina up near the cervix) are used to help with implantation and hormone production until the placenta takes over. The injections are used later (can't be used in early pregnancy due to risk to male fetuses) to strengthen my cervix to prevent dilation and softening/thinning/effacing/funneling.

So, I don't know if the injections have the same side-effects, but I'll be taking Progesterone until 36 weeks.

Well, hopefully the headaches fade!
But, even if they don't, it'll be worth a nice big healthy baby, right?!

For sure, but expect it to be the one pregnancy symptom I bitch about endlessly if I have to go 7 months with a headache!

That's awesome! I think you are skinny lol. I hope I can lose this weight after I have my baby. I have always struggled with weight tho. Been like 165 since I been out of high school. I carry it well being that I am 5'8" but I don't like myself call the time lol
