Not finding out the sex

posted 26th Sep
I have my anatomy scan tomorrow and I don't want to find out the sex, but my family and my SO's family is pressuring to find out. I found out with my first and so this time I want to be surprised when the doctor says it. Our families say to find out so they can buy clothes for it but I have everything for a girl and if I have a boy my friend has offered to give me her sons clothes so its not like I need the clothes from them. And now my MIL says to have the doctor write it on a paper and only let her see but I know I'll go crazy if she knows and I don't. Please help encourage me so I don't fall into the pressure!!!!!!!!

Thank you.

Tell them touch luck! It's your decision and it's final. They'll know when you know.

Do what you want...if they would actually keep it a secret they could find out but that takes knowing if they can keep it in. I plan on finding out at my shower. I want to put it in an envelope for my bff and have a cake made with the color inside (gender neutral decorations) and cut the cake once everyone gets there.

If you don't want to the don't!!
My second baby was a surprise (not by choice, she wouldn't show us lol) but that moment when the baby is born is awesome
Just my opinion, my midwife didn't say what the baby was, she let us look, that was so much more special she let us look ourselves. I think If you do end up having a surprise then ask your dr if you can looks yourselves

If it was my family, Id just lie and say "oh the baby wouldnt show the goods, we couldnt find out." but thats just me lol, I think itd be easier to lie than to stand my ground and insist it is my right to choose to be surprised etc...

I did a surprise with DD. Best experience ever. I'd just say tough luck, everyone will find out at birth, when you do.
