Hard lump on back of skull?

posted 26th Sep
Hello ladies,
my daughter Emily is 5 yrs old has autism and a severe speech delay so communicating her symptoms or if something happened is probably not going to happen.
I'm just a little worried. I noticed that the back of her skull a little to the right side almost at the base, her skull looks either misshapen or there is a huge lump. It is rock hard too. She didn't hit her head, she is supervised every minute at school so I know nothing happened at school either. I checked with them more then once. The teacher even noticed the lump.
It's just so weird. It does not seem to hurt her but then again she has extremely high pain tolerance.
It's like where the tendons are behind your neck on each side of the spine. The right side starts there at the base of her skull and goes all the way up to the middle of her skull. About the same width too. Hard as bone but her heads was not shaped like that before, I'm sure of it. She's had that for a week now.
She's been having HUGE mood swings lately, more then usual even for her autism. I did book an appointment with her pediatrician but I was wondering if any of you ladies have heard of something like this?

this may sound stupid...just want to make sure.

This lump does not match to the left side at all? Completely different?

Try to put it aside, all you can do is wait till the doctor sees her.

OR do what I did and lie your ass off to the ER till they give you an ultra sound.

Good luck

Yes it's completely different. Lump seems wider then thick but there is a clear difference with both sides.

I just find it odd that it is that hard. Her pupils are normal, not lethargic, no nausea does not seem dizzy and leans her head so prob not too sensitive. I don't want to rush her to the ER and have her catch some virus while in the waiting room.

I just find it really odd

Yeah, you dont have to explain it to me. I dont take lumps and bruises lightly. But sometimes we got to just simmer it down
