It happens all the time. How else would so many people KNOW about it if it didn't happen often?? And WIC is pretty fool proof... you get what it says on the checks. Often times, from what I saw, with WIC, cashiers would get pissy and ask "Ugh is this all WIC" and blurt it at the top of their lungs, and make people all around stare. (Sorry it's jumbled, I JUST spent all day doing fall cleaning, I'm pooped.)

Yeah, I've seen a ton of cashiers make a HUGE deal out of WIC because they have to do special stuff to it. And I could see if this lady complained about them making a huge deal over her WIC, but from the news reports, she got loud about them being wrong. I'd still love to know what items she was purchasing. That would settle our personal little debate on covered vs non-covered items that we've got going on in here.

It really would.   Too bad we'll never know. Not for a long while probably.

I don't care WHAT the lady did, whether she insisted on speaking to the manager or not - there is NO REASON what-so-ever to speak to a customer like that.

Dumb smurf should be fired plain and simple.

I agree.
If he said it, he needed to be fired.
Even if she did get an attitude or whatever if he cannot hold his tongue and act like a manager in that kind of work should , then he needs to find a different job that DON'T involve dealing with people/customer service.

  Which is understandable lol.
He obviously doesn't need to have that kind of job.

I would never say anything like THAT, though - that's going too far and extremely nasty and unneeded.
