As for the video that was in the link from the show WWYD... it's good that people help out. We are on food stamps but help others when we can. We have bought food for the homeless before.... people help us, we help them.

I have done it for someone in front of me before, but it was only like 30 cents. I have had people do it for me, I was 20 cents short on buying something, and I was going to put something back, and the cashier told me not to worry about it, she would cover it, this just happened like last month. Im a manager at a grocery store, and I find this ridiculous!! Yes there are people who are downright lazy, but what about the people who were active military, and were honorable discharged due to disability and stuff? They get out on foodstamps, would he have said something to them? Or about people who get laid off? And need help getting back on their feet?

It just irritates me that som,eone would say something like this especially without knowing a whole story!!

My work, is in a very "rundown area, next to state housing, and a lot of trailer parks and what not", so we have a very large amount of people who walk, and use foodstamps, because they have no other way, to support themaelves, or there family without it. For the time being.

That is very sad that one would say something so careless.  

That's my thing, I hate the people who abuse the system and are just lazy and wanna get stuff for free, but when one truly needs it is different.

The thing is though, regardless if they "really need the help" or are "just lazy", they are still living in poverty and wouldn't be able to eat without government assistance. I don't know why it bothers people so much if the government helps people put food on their table. Be glad you don't have to rely on that and are able to feed your family yourself.

Meh it does bother me when people who have had job offers turn them down because they want to continue to get stuff free gets government help. It does bug me.
