well i had one back when i was like 5 weeks but he just filled out all the usual questions and sent me for blood work. Then i had my u/s at 8 weeks. Then my appt near the end of the month. Yah i feel like i should have had a couple already lol

Yeah, here they do them monthly until you hit 28 weeks, then it's every 2 weeks until 36 weeks, and weekly after that.

With this one I have been seen at 8, 12, 16, and 20 weeks so far, next one is at 24 weeks. An u/s at 8 weeks and the one at 20 weeks. I am hoping I get another one later on, like I did with Steven.

oh wow they start the 2 week ones early there. they do them monthly here and then around 32 weeks i think its every couple weeks then the last 3 or 4 weeks is weekly. I cant member exactly. Ive only had this doctor for my last daughter and i went into labour a couple weeks early, and i dont think i had hit weekly appts yet...i also hadnt been checked yet either.

I guess after the glucose test at 28 weeks they start every 2 weeks, at least with my Dr. And at 36 weeks you get the Group B test and I know with Steven when he did the group b test he also checked me for dilation while he was down there, then did it at each weekly appt. I went past 40 weeks with Steven and was induced.

see my sil brought that up to me the other day asking if i was gbs + with either of my girls cause she was with her son...and i googled it and my doctor didnt even do that test on me last time! ...i dont know if his plan was to do it at my 38 week appt and i just never made it to that or what but i didnt get it.

I think that's why they do it at 36 weeks here, that way if you go early they know if you have it or not to get you the antibiotics while in labor. When you get that far, ask about it if he doesn't mention it. Do they not give you papers of what they do and such. Mine gave me a reference guide to pregnancy, it has his hours and the other 2 obs in the office hours. The office visits, lab testings they do, health and fitness, digestive, safe medications during pregnancy, diet, foods to avoid, activity, and fetal kick-count instructions.

oh no they dont give any of that. Most of it is common sense nad id prob laugh if they did. And i know ti all by now. But i will ask about the gbs thing...thats kinda scary that he didnt do it last time. Yikes...maybe times have changed since 4 years ago...i dunno!

I think one of the big reasons they give them out is so people aren't always calling them about every little thing, since a lot of the little stuff is on the papers. I mostly use the front page with the hours and how often the visits are. Oh and the safe meds when needed, I am not a big meds person.

yea i dont ever take meds. prob cause i never get sick. the only thing i get is really bad migraines but they seem to go away when im pregnant so thats a good thing. cause tylenol does nothing for my headaches.

8 weeks 3 days today and I found the hb! I couldnt stop smiling.174 bpm!

yay thats awesome! crazy how fast there little hb's are at that stage. Mine was 171, but has went signifigantly down since then and usually around the 140-150's

Darn I was hoping the fast hb meant girl lol I know I know its just a myth lol
