How soon can you use the doppler?

I was wondering the same mine just came in the mail. but i prob wont try till 10 weeks. at least. But i do know people that have found it themselves at 8 and 9 weeks. BUt i just dont want to not find it and freak out...PLus ive never used one before.

I found mine at 8 weeks...it took foreeeeeveerrr to find it...but if it helps, it was pretty much on my pubic bone...like the very top of it, if that makes sense

I dont think i could try that early. Im too scared! Did you have to push pretty hard? what doppler end do you have the 2 or 3 mhrz

I couldn't resist lol....yeah I had to press a little hard....i have a 3 mhz

3mhz dopplers are medical grade so can find a heartbeat at 8weeks. Maybe a few days before. 2mhz aren't medical grade and state heartbeat can be found between 10-12 weeks. I have a 2mhz (didn't realise the difference when purchased) and so far not heard heartbeat. But I can hear the placenta really loud. So I may have an anterior placenta which can muffle heartbeat but also I heard hearing the placenta is a good thing.

I read that the 2mhz ones are good for larger ladies, Not sure why thats just what i read. Let me know when you find the heartbeat! Then i will try like 2 weeks after you haha

Yeah I also read that. Which is weird because you would think it would be the other way around. I am going to try again on Saturday when I am 10weeks.

I heard my son's heartbeat at 8 weeks but I was at my doctors office. Never had one to find it on my own.

i heard my babys at 8 weeks too, on the ultrasound  

I tried my doppler last night just to try it lol. I knew i wouldnt find the heartbeat but i was ok with that. I go for my u/s in 3 days so i will hear it then...All i could find was the swooshing sound. Whatever that is.haha

Me either, ive never had one this early before. So im curious to see how much of nothing its really going to look like haha

You'll be 8 weeks right? It might look like mine this time. I was 8 weeks 1 day. Or it could look different, I have seen 8 week u/s look different, I guess depends on the machine and baby.

Yeah ill be just over 8 weeks like 8 weeks 2 days, or if i go by the due date my doc gave me(july 17th) i would be 7 weeks 6 days i think
