She's a dumbass, shes 4 weeks along? Yeah wait till she hits 6-10 weeks and starts vomiting every minute of everyday and cant even keep water down. If it was mind over matter I would have never been sick, it has nothing to do with that. You cant tell yourself "im not going to get sick" it doesnt work like that.

I'm a petty bitch, so I'd post "just wait." ss it, and wait a few weeks until she starts bitching and post it.

My morning sickness didn't really start until 10 weeks this time.

I know, it kills me! I have NO problem with people getting the epidural. Everyone's labor and delivery is different, everyone's threshold of pain is different. I don't choose to not get an epidural because I want to be a hero. I do it mainly because I am scared to death of needles and DO NOT want one in my back lol I am not looking forward to the rest of her pregnancy statuses...that is of course unless she gets horrible morning sickness....then I can't wait lol

I just noticed something. We are both due on 4/18/13 with this baby and I had my DD on 12/9/07. I see your first was born pretty close to that also!!

First all the mind over matter thing makes no sense but even if you take that away how dumb is the statement that she thinks because she has a high pain threshold this will prevent her from getting MS? There is no connection between morning sickness and pain, have you ever heard anyone say "oh I had morning sickness today and I just couldn't take the pain!! It hurt so bad"?? I have a high pain threshold, I have a fair few tattoos and over 30 odd piercings which include microdermals implanted under my skin and let me tell you I had horrendous morning sickness so this girl is ridiculous haha Morning sickness doesn't even start at 4 weeks so let's hope she is in for some and then you can post back to her and say "it's all mind over matter, mind over matter hun"  

Eh, she still has a long way to go. I wonder how long it will take before she startrs complaining. When she does, kindly remind her of mind over matter.

Is it terrible that I hope she ends up being one of the poor souls who end up having morning sickness throughout their entire pregnancy?

This, lol. I grew up a tomboy and I can tell ya that doesn't mean smurf when it comes to pain with the female system. I took broken bones like a champ... my ovarian cysts? Yeah Im a smurfing wimp... yet I'm still a tomboy. She's dumb.

I only got morning sickness once, but it wasn't because I said "DONT GET SICK!" I just never had it. I wonder if I should of told my body to stop bleeding during pregnancy and it would of listened... damn she has all the answers, just tell our body to stop doing what its doing and all is well!!!! **rolls eyes**

It is her first pregnancy and it is early, on, just sit back and laugh, because most women get it to some degree, and it is unlikely she will get through an entire pregnancy without ANY side effects.

My first pregnancy i had a hard time, constant sickness, dizziness, hot flash, pain, people told me i was so young and healthy that i was just being weak and a crybaby, and that was highly offensive.

My 2nd pregnancy I did not experience to much sickness and felt pretty damn good and even worked fulltime on my feet, even when i was on bedrest I felt really energetic.

No 2 women are the same, even the same woman, different pregnancies are not the same.

Idk if I have a high pain tolerance but labor didnt really hurt... I still got morning sickness.
I definetly believe it CAN be made worse by the mind-body connection.
