4 weeks 5 days old HELP!!!!!

posted 26th Sep
My daughter was born 32weeks 3 days gestation, she was due oct 13th had her aug 21st, right now she has been bottle feeding more ( breastmilk) and breastfeeding maybe 1-3 times a day because she is used to the bottle. As from yesterday she was having at least 4-5 bowl movements, i just changed her diaper and she had yellowish huge bowl movement, i checked her temperature it was 35.9 celsius or 96.4F so i wrapped her in a swaddle to keep her warm, should i be concerned with the many bowl movements and her temperature dropping? I plan tp call the doctor in the morning

I only BF one of my babies and only for 2 months but I do know yellow is a good sign-- breastfed babies have yellow poop, she is getting her nutrients is all. As for her temp if she doesnt warm up after being swaddled I would call her doctor. She might just have been cold. Some thermometers you are supposed to add a degree depending on where you take her temp. Like if u did it under her arm, with a regualar oral one add a degree. Hope this helps.

She sounds normal but have you tried talking to an LC for your latching issues? Perhaps they could help get her on track with latching. Also, have you tried a nipple shield? If you pump first and then put a nipple shield on she will realize there is milk in there and it feels more like a bottle. Maybe it would help?
Also try latching in luke warm baths. I don't know why but it worked for my sons latching issues. It worked really well actually but it took us a few months to get him to latch. It was a struggle but it can be done :]

Her health seems normal though. Some babies poop everyday and some don't poop for a week or so when they are consuming only breastmilk. <3

Also just as a precautionary measure if you decide you prefer pumping or if the latching doesn't go right weeks down the road(which is should with a ton of work though <3) try taking funagreek and blessed thistle to make sure you can keep pumping enough to sustain her :] <3 Just wanted to help all around. Sounds like you are doing an amazing job mama.

Mothers love is THE BEST! I just never recommend it because most people don't know what it is ever. It was hands down the best thing I used though. It was about 30 bucks but well worth it. :]

I used the liquid kind in tincture form and it was really strong. You can combine it with more funagreek if you want as well as mothers milk tea. Its a lot but if you ever end up having to pump a lot it is ok to combine all these herbs.
