Retained products

I had an ultrasound today to check for left over placenta, there is 3cm by something(missed the other measurement)
I see the doctor tomorrow.
Will they probably do a curette or is there other ways?

I don't know what a curette is but I had placenta tear off and get left behind with my youngest and they gave me meds for it. I think they were technically abortion meds.

Oh ok, thank you, I think I'd prefer that so I'll ask the dr if I can have that. I just want to know what my options are because she's a pushy doctor and probably wouldn't tell me what my options are.
A curette is a D&C. Lol I guess I should've just called it that.

Yeah my midwife tried the meds first. I would of needed a d&c if they didn't work but thankfully they did!

Oh ok yeah the midwife gave me a few different meds to try to pass everything and stop my bleeding, I had passed more placenta but did again after they sent me home and now have done an ultrasound due to my loss.
So hopefully I can do the meds at home?

Just thought I'd update.
The OB considered letting me try the medication so she did an internal and sent me for another ultrasound and got the opinion from 3 other OB's and GYN's.
They all recommended the curette so I had that done this morning.
GYN said she was happy I got it done as I had a lot of clots and had a big bleed.
On IV antibiotics until lunchtime tomorrow then I get to go home.
