Me personally, I can't diet, I cant count calories.. none of it works for me. When I do that stuff it stresses me out and makes weight loss another stress in my life. So instead I focus on eating healthy, and general portion control. I follow Canada's food guide. Lots of people try to cut out dairy and a lot of wheats and grains etc.. I am just mindful of not eating too much. I enjoy eating a chocolate bar now and again, once and a while I order pizza etc. I feel like treating yourself is necessary (in moderation). I eat a lot of fresh fruits and vegetables. I try really hard to make my biggest meal of the day breakfast, that way I have energy for the day and an entire day to start working it off. I do not drink pop, ever.. for me that's just because I don't really even enjoy it. If I'm craving a sweet drink I will make juice at home (buying a juicer is one of the best purchases of my life). Juicing has extreme benefits on it's own - and is really great if you don't have the time for a full meal, or just to get some extra nutrients. I try to drink a glass of water right before all my meals to make me fill up a bit quicker and eat less. Basically, It's a lifestyle that can be maintained in my opinion. I pre cut fruits and vegs. to make for easy convenient snacks etc!
