why are baby names sooooo hard to pick?

...we've decided on a boys name, that was absolutely no problem...we cannot figure out a girls name!..like seriously, it shouldn't be this hard!!...DH has picked his name that he likes a lot and that is Aleda(Uh-Lay-Duh) and I like it but I would much rather have it be Aurora..I've grown soooo attached to Aurora and DH hates it sooo much!!...like we cannot come to an agreement on this!!...and we have 5 weeks until we find out what we're having and I want a name picked out before then..I've looked at name after name and nothing hits me...this is going to be my (possible) daughters name, I don't want to name her something that doesn't make me fall in love with it everytime I hear it...LO has a name that me and DH both mutually agreed on..it was an older name and I like "classic" but uncommonly classic names...ugh!..why can't I find anything I like that DH will agree with!!!!!...ARGH!!

why do you have to pick so early? there are people that dont pick until they actually physically hold and see the baby for the first time.

no, I understand where you're coming from with our first we had the easiest time coming up with a girls name and could not for the life of us come up with a boys name...this time around it's the exact opposite..

I'm not one of those people..we want our son to identify the name with the baby before the baby gets here so when we say "____is here" he will no what we're talking about..I'm pretty sure I don't want him calling his younger sibling "the baby" once he or she is born..and DH and I like to have a name picked out to save us the trouble when the baby gets here...we have a hard enough time deciding on a name at this stage in the pregnancy can you imagine what trouble it would be if we did it at the very last minute?

LOL! We just agreed on a girl name they are so much prettier.....lol or is it just me?? lol We haven't talked too much about boy names but we are no where near deciding....siigghhhh I know we still have time to decide...Im not really pushing it yet lol.

OMG I would die if we waited last minute too! I don't want to announce the name though because my SO sisters are so opinionated? It would probably hurt my feelings if they said something stupid...lol.

I had a boys name picked out easy-peasey, then as soon as we found out it was a girl, we were like "what the smurf do we call her?!" lol I wish I woulda named DD Jocelyn, but SO hated it. :[[[

oh and you're due on my son's due date(well it was suppose to be his due date..he came a day early)...I honestly like boy names better because they're more fun...I'm having the hardest time picking a girl name that isn't to fairytale-ish but not too average either!..it's soo frustrating!

I'm kinda just thinking about giving the baby the name I want..like, DH NEVER agrees with any name I pick and I've literally named off more then I can count!!..he'll have to deal with it, right?..lol

Has he named off any that he likes? Me and SO would take a marker and highlight the names we liked, then widdled it down to the ones we both highlighted, then looked at the meaning of each name to see which one we liked best.
