IUI Please tell me

posted 25th Sep
If you did IUI please let me know the protocol of your cycles... medication, visits to be monitored...... how many you have done and how many were successful.
If your insurance covered it and how much it cost you with or without insurance

I've done three IUIs with Femara and Follistim. I don't remember the dose of Femara but I believe it was an average dose. The Follistim was 75-110iu per day for I can't remember how many days. Maybe five? All were unsuccessful but I have smurf for ovaries and needed donor eggs.

Insurance covered nothing.   For the IUI cycle monitoring plus procedure it was about $1500. I can't remember how much the drugs were but it was probably about $500. Most people don't do injectibles with IUI though.

You TTC again?

I did one IUI and my protocol was Repronex (suppose to be 10 days but always went over) I did the HCG injection about 36 hours before the IUI. Mine wasn't successful we actually ended up going all the way to IVF. My medications and IUI were free since I did the IUI at a military location, but if I didn't I would have had to pay the cost of my medications, ultrasounds, and the actuall IUI.. IUI is cheaper if you ovulate from clomid or femara the cost is about 1,500 that indcludes IUI, the pills and the ultrasounds.. Injectables is much more expensive because of the cost of the injections. I did finaly get pregnant with our daughter after 5 and a half years of trying and expecting a son any day due after 3 years 4 months. I wish you all the best and hope that you will have your miracle soon!

Im considering it.... I have 1 embryo left but that is about 5,000 to do a transfer and the IUI is about $800.00 I had 3 IUI's and none worked so I went and did IVF and that worked. I have new insurance so I am tempted to see if they might cover any of the costs.. I should just make the appointment and see

$5,000 wtf??? Mine cost $1,500 including cycle monitoring and meds. It would be less than that if I didn't have to do the cycle monitoring at a local place. If FETs cost $5,000 here I would have no chance of being a mom.

When I was TTC my daughter we got pregnant our first IUI cycle, we were VERY lucky! This happened 3 years ago so, I don't remember every detail. I just took Clomid 100mg and Metformin. I had the CD3 u/s and blood work, CD11 u/s and blood work, CD14 &15 u/s and blood work. I didn't do the trigger shot because I O'ed on my own on CD 15 then I had the IUI done CD 16 morning.

My second IUI cycle I had the CD3 u/s and labs, CD 11 u/s & labs, CD 14 and 15 u/s &labs, CD 17 u/s and labs I ended up O'ing on my own once again so no trigger then on CD 18 I had my IUI.

My insurance did pay for part of my medication, u/s and labs. It ended up costing around $550. At my RE's office the IUI alone is $350.

I became pregnant with my son on my first round of IUI. It was almost 7 years ago so I don't remember exactly how many times I had to go for monitoring. I want to say every other day or so... I did Follistem injections (I want to say it was 250 iu), and a trigger shot. The total cost for us was around $1,000. The insurance covered all but around $500 of my meds, I had a few copays, and then the actual IUI was around $350.
