Seafood Salad?

Can I eat seafood salad while pregnant?!! Its all I want!! ..Its imitation crab meat not actual crab meat, so no shell, so do you think its okay?

If it's imitation crab it should be okay. The worry with seafood is mercury content, and the fake stuff should be mercury free.

The imitation stuff is actually just fish, so it does contain mercury but it's a low level. You are allowed to eat some seafood.

But I want it atleast 3 times a week!! I have an appt. Oct 17th so Im going to ask my Dr. then

Check the label or check the product website to find out what the mercury content is.

Ooooh, I see. Next time you go, ask them what type of fish they use. If they use fresh fish they will know, and if they use it out of a can they can check the label. Then you can just look up the mercury content of that kind of fish.

I just did a google search that said most imitation crab is pollock, which is a low level fish. That would mean no more than 12 oz per week.
