re: No heartbeat at 6weeks

I wanted to get the D&C too, just to "get it over with" because I hated the idea of having a "dead fetus" inside me. BG actually talked me into waiting!! Thank goodness!

WHen we found the heartbeat, it took everything I had to keep SO from killing my last doctor! Not kidding.

I would have definitely gone in there and cussed them the smurf out! Maybe it would make them think twice before they recommend the next D&C so easily!

When did you see the heartbeat?

I'm sorry ur going through this I had a miscarriage in 2009 and gain in jan this year the one in 09 I had an ultrasound and no heart beat my dr did however had me wait a full week in case it was too early.... I did have bleeding and was starting to miscarry but my body would reject it so it ended in a d&c I then found out I was pregnant exactly a year later.(I had been on the shot immediately after the d&c)
Anyways with this pregnancy I had bleeding at 4-5-6&7 weeks and I think heavy bleeding at 9 weeks. I went to the hospital 3 times and when I finally got to the drs I was 6w2d but measuring 6w6d baby's tend to often measure different usually at ever ultrasound. (give or take days) I would personally wait for bleeding to start or go to the drs again in a week or 2 unless u have bleeding then go to the ER. I was also told with my daughter I'd lose her there was bleeding behind the placenta Cause it was separating from my uterus I now have a beautiful baby girl who will be 2 on Friday and I am 17w3d preggo now after all the bleeding and scares!! Good luck mama don't lose hope yet!

I was 8 or 9 weeks along.

Oh I also didn't see the heart beat till 7 weeks

I would definitely wait! My last pregnancy at 6 weeks 1 day we saw nothing but the sac. Went for a follow up U/S, I was 10 weeks 1 day and everything was fine.

Maybe ask if in a week or 2 you haven't had any cramping or bleeding they give you another U/S.

We r do the same day! Haha cool havnt seen anyone w my dd yet

We just called our doctor with all of our questions and decided the best thing to do is cancel our u/s for tomorrow, cancel the D&C for Thursday and follow up with an u/s next Monday and give the baby another week. If it hasn't grown and we don't see a heart beat on Monday, then I guess we will know what to do. Right now, I'm searching for Specialists in St. Louis that have dealt with Mothers with a bicornuate uterus. I asked my Dr. if this is a normal abnormality and he said yes but then also said he sees about 1 a year.... We are going to try and get a second opinion between now and Monday. Still haven't had any symptoms of a miscarriage but he said he believes that the embryo stopped growing on Saturday or Sunday and that it could take a while to m/c....

My OB also told me when I had my m/c that it can take around a month to naturally miscarry.
