so why can't any therapist explain what's wrong?

Well my son is 14 and like things have gone pretty bizarre. I've got two daughters who are grown that I raised and weren't like this. They were both kids still. My oldest daughter was still pretty much a child and innocent. But since he was 10 he's been so different. He started cutting and drawing sexually violent pictures... He started backmouthing me. He's been hospitalized 3 times and takes medication. He never says much. Like he only says a few words here and there. But he won't talk in therapy I found his diary he kept years ago when he was 11 and it had pretty much descriptions of situations in writing or pictures of like rape. He's gotten in fights and brought a weapon to school...He's been caught shoplifting or just not coming home at all. He's out of control when I try to ground him he just smiles and flips me out or says smurf you bitch in a like cheerful voice with a smile. He's even said once he wished I got raped and murdered and that he could see a tape of it. He never really talks to the therapist. And he seemingly just won't listen or change no matter the years of proffessional help nothing works.. He just recently got an std and spread it throughout the school. He denies he's gay yet he has seemingly slept around with guys. He has had complaints at school for this and it's why I'm making him change schools.He mostly is though emotionless all i see is him with such a blank expression. its like he built up a wall against anyone connected to me. I don't have mental illness in my family at all. Also the few times he says anything in therapy. The therapist can only gather something negative about me or vulgar he says in general. Sometimes I feel he just does things to get a reaction. I'm fed up...

Sounds like someone needs boot camp!

He needs professional help.he needs to be hospitalized until whatever issues he has is worked out.

Im sorry, but to me it sounds like he is over sexualized. Maybe had some type of sexual abuse when he was younger, possibly by a male. Maybe a new doctor to have a fresh opinion on him.

Sounds like he may have been sexually assualted at some point.

I'm sorry mama...I hope you get some answers, and he gets some help.

Drawing pictures of rape that young would be a huge big red flag for me. I work with kids and use art therapy often with them and they often draw things that have happened to them, although I do work with younger children.

Counseling paired with medication!!

And it definitely sounds like there might have been abuse, and if he had any kind of mental illness, that abuse could have aggravated it to make it as bad as it is now.

I dunno since she says he pretty much won't talk to the therapist, ya know? So if he's not talking & opening up, I doubt he'd share info like that. Hope that makes sense.

No. Kids sometimes go through a couple therapists before they find one that they trust, or one that is doing their job, or one who knows what to look for.

OP, maybe try another therapist or counselor? Have him help pick one (or even a few to try) maybe?

I'm a therapist   I know there have been kids who won't talk to me but will talk to one of my co-workers or vice versa
