Pretty sure that's the case here too. They even have strict privacy for teens, so a parent can't demand a Dr tell them about the childs care or BC. I lose access to my kid medical files (website) when the turn. . . 13 I think.

So I'm looking at this from the POV that they can obtain these things anywhere. Having them available at school through the nurse then is the only question for me, since the rest is normal here.

Not the school I went to lol. They handed them out at the nurses office.

I support it.

I know damn well there will be teens who need it and DONT get it, because they dont want their parents to know.

And that is how prom-night dumpster babies happen.

I'm glad you don't need parental consent here. Just because I would hate for a teen to be forced to carry a baby they didn't want due to the parents religion/personal issues.

I've known a lot of people from PA come up here to get them as teens because there parents wouldn't allow them to get one.

<blockquote><b>Quoting kthx.:</b>" But like another person said... if there's a medical limit on the numbers of pills allowed in x amount of time, what's the point of the school even doing it?"</blockquote>

The point would be so the school can help the kids. Maybe an early intervention with them since the nurse will be having direct contact with them and is able to get ahold of them during school hours if need be.
This is just a guess but it would be a smart way to go about things. Especially if the parents are just oblivious to it all...And by oblivious I mean the fact of their kid having sex period.

I think it's often done because some highly religious parents would possibly do some bad things to a daughter they discovered was pregnant. If it required approval then a 17 year old who was raped would be forced to carry the child if her parents felt she should. Even with notification, a girl could be put in danger by having to admit that she had an abortion to her parents. Same with day after pill, even if it was due to rape.

Well just making this available without the proper education will only make it more likely that these high school students are going to get an STD instead of getting pregnant. Just saying, "Here you go, have unsafe sex, you won't have to worry about babies", is not the solution.

I don't see why not for students 16+... 16 year old can go to a dr for a script anyways without the parents consent.

I think that maybe 16+ they shouldn't have to give notification - you can get birth control at that age without parental consent and while Morning After is not BC, I think it's a sexual health issue and the girl has a right to make her choice. Under 16, there should be parental notification.

I think if they are under the age of consent the parents should be notified.

Tell that to all the teen girls who have gotten pregnant while using a condom.
Condoms are not "enough". They never will be.
