re: Pro-Choicers would have their daughters abort their pregnanc

I had said your child would be a human being. so kicking them out for getting pregnant??

I got pregnant at 15. had my son at 16. my mother fully supported ANY decision I made. told me if abortion was what I chose, she would support it, but said she didn't want me doing so unless I felt it was the best decision.
and if that I kept the baby, if i stayed in school and graduated, focused solely on my child and school, she would support it. I wasn't allowed to have a job, because I was to go to school, and come straight home and take care of my responsibility. my son.

either way, my mother was there for me thru it all. and I would be the exact same way.
maybe not push for them to not have a job like my mother did, but I would certainly help them where they needed it.

If your daughter got pregnant as a teen that doesn't mean your parenting with her is over and you can "abort" her and it defiantly doesn't legally make her an adult.
If she was 14-15 you'd still have 3-4 years of parenting left and you'd still have to support her and ONLY her.

I would be making the choice with my child's best interest in mind. Not mine.

I'm pro-life for me. That doesn't mean I want to force that stance on other women (especially my daughter). She would have to chose what was best for her. I am a stay at home mom, which means that if she decided to have a baby, I would be there and support her the whole time. I respect every other woman's right to choose what's best for HER. My pro-life stance goes as far as my little personal bubble encompasses. If my daughter felt that an abortion was what was right for her, I would support that.

Unless she was, like nine, then no, I wouldn't "force" my daughter to abort. But at sixteen, her ass is getting a job and supporting what is hers.

I don't think you should force your high school student to work, yet... (this is just my opinion), they should focus on school first so they have some chance of a future, KWIM?

I'm not saying she needs to get a full-time job, but she is going to work part-time to help support the kid. I wouldn't kick her out and she'd have a free place to stay. But financially, she decided to be a big girl, now she has to start acting like one.

Oh I agree!! I really do... I'm trying to use logic though, KWIM?

I see what you're saying, but I just would not feel comfortable with her not working and having me do all the financial supporting, especially since it is her kid. Plenty of BG mamas have worked and gone to school and raised kids w/out the help of their parents. Even just working ten hours a week would be enough to pay for diapers. She would get someone watching her kid so she could do homework, but I think making her work would help her understand the severity of the situation and, hopefully, will deter her from having a second or, heaven forbid, a third baby.

I would hope so! I would have a sit down with his parents to discuss how the situation will be handled and off to the OB/GYN for some BC!

I would be extremely pissed and angry if my child came home pregnant. I would support her but I don't plan on being the parent who will let her know that. She will have to sweat it out some. As sad and disappointed as I would be I would not force her into a decision. I would rather she not hate me for the rest of her life for forcing her into something.

I watch 16 and Pregnant and have seen a few episodes where the girls are teen moms and they are cheerleading or playing some other sport. Ummm no. Those days would be OVER and she would be forced to spend her afternoons doing something proactive to help her child.

Hey, if staying involved in an extracurricular or two helps them get into college, by all means keep going. But if they're just trying to stay out of the house then no, they need to be home taking care of Jr.

The sad thing is that a lot of sperm donors DON'T stick around to help with the baby, especially teen boys.
