Car seat scenario
posted 24th Sep
If you saw a 4 door car with 3 car seats (all FF legally) in the back seat and a 6 year old in the front seat (ina booster seat) would that be illegal? Just something I saw and wondered if it was illegal or just not preferred safety wise.

I guess it depends on if they turned the air bag off on that side, but it's not something I would personally do.

It's not illegal, just not safe. At all.

while it may not be the safest thing...I'm unsure if it's illegal...the law can't make you go buy a new car

I'm pretty sure it's legal if there's no room in the backseat (or no backseat at all). Not something i'd feel comfortable doing, but pretty sure it's legal

Depends where u live, here the 6 yr old would not even need to be in a booster seat.

As long as the airbag is off.

Not safe, but not illegal.

I have read about this. it's not against the law what ever child is safest in front is basically what the info said. I would just hope the air bag was turned off. but I know that you can't do that in all cars. so I hope the seat was pushed as far back as it would go. the law is not NO child under 12 in the front. look at the chp website, your car's manual and many car seat sites.
