Twins born at 32 weeks

whoops haha.

anywho here are my boys born September 19. Sebastian 4lbs 9oz and Julian 5 lbs.

They are still in NICU but doing great just waiting for them to gain some weight and eat better. I was going to give a birth story but i feel rushed now haha so we will just say my water broke and 12 hours later i delivered them both vaginally.

i was ecstatic. We were unsure at first because baby B was breech at last OB appointment, then we found out at the hospital that he flipped.

I can imagine! I am 32 weeks now and I NEED that month at least lol.

the only benefit is that i can actually DO stuff now. I was pretty much immobile lol

I have done more in the past 3 days than I had done my whole pregnancy. I know I shouldn't be but I dont really have a choice lol

I know how you feel I can barely move and I have no energy. But I bet the cleaning and organizing is keeping your mind off of thing some which is good.

those weeks in NICU weren't easy, but totally worth it
getting them home was the happiest day of my life

How long will they be in the nicu? Im 32 wks and 3 days with twins

Thank you! I am waiting patiently. Knowing that they aren't sick and they are just adjusting to being outside helps a lot. We had an apnea scare with Julian, so I would rather them be there with monitors than home with me where I have no idea if they are breathing correctly or not. I would never sleep.

We don't know for sure. They are doing really well, and we aren't entirely sure my due date was correct because they seemed so big and healthy for their age but we are guessing they will be out at 35 weeks. They are just trying to gain some weight and eat better right now so they can come out of the incubator and go to the big boy crib. They have to be able to hold their body heat and if they take them out too early, they will lose weight, so we are just playing the waiting game. My EDD put them at 32 weeks and 5 days the day they were born.

apnea totally sucks, BUT it's totally normal. it's just what happens to babies until they reach 36 weeks. that's why they stay in NICU until about then, usually.
i told my neos that the apnea scared the smurf out of me, and they sort of chuckled and said "they'll grow out of them. they always do"

the full name for it is actually "apnea of prematurity" aka AOP
