Can my period cause my diuretic not to work?

Ok, so I'm almost 4 months PP (on the 31st) and I still have water weight on me...and yes, my kidneys, liver, etc....are all fine and were tested a week ago. Anyway, I'm currently on a prescription diuretic called Triamterene and it WAS working VERY well - well, that is until my period started last Sunday. I'm taking it and still urinating must as much but can't get this water weight off - oh, and because of my period, I've gained 4 lbs..>>>ARRRGH! Now I have 24 lbs to lose instead of 20. DAMMIT!

So can diuretics not work during your period but start working again afterwards on account of water weight you can't avoid during that time of the month?
