My 2nd C-section

posted 24th Sep
So I'm 23 weeks pregnant and having a planned C-section. My first son was an emergancy c-section and I loved it. I was in labor with him for 28hrs but only spent 10 of it pushing and was just ready for the c-section when they decided I'd have to have one.. it was an all natural labor up until my c-section where I recieved a spinal. Anyways,, I guess I'm just nervous about having another c-section. With my first I was in labor so long and in so much pain I didnt feel the spinal or anything. I guess I'm just afraid that this time it will hurt. lol I am terrified of needles to the point that accasionally I pass out. Is it normal to be this nervous about something you've been thru before with no problems? I was never afraid or nervous about labor the first time so I guess I just don't understand why I'm so worried now? I'm even more afraid I'll go into natural labor again and it be as terrible as the first time. See my sons head got stuck and they tried to suction him out and the top layer of his head came off and blood was all over my face and both of our heart rates sky rocketed! Then they had to push him back in for my c-section & well I just don't want to go threw all that again.

I have had three c-sections. The first one was no where near as bad as your experience. The second was a breeze, I was very nervous going in but I didn't even feel like I had a baby afterward. Just make sure you walk around as much as you can after you have it. It makes it a lot easier and helps you heal. Good luck! I hope it all goes well.

My spinals never hurt and my first was natural until the emer. c-section too. But yeah it's normal to worry about the pain of stuff you've gone through before. I still freak out for needles even though I've got tattoos, piercings, and have to get my blood drawn every 6 mnths. Usually people don't enjoy pain especially when there's no pleasure in it ;) but with your 2nd c-section it will go slightly slower than your 1st and if you're not trying for a vbac you shouldn't have to worry about suction and the baby getting stuck.

Well I dont feel as bad about still feeling nervous now! I just dont want to go into labor before my c-section and it be as bad as the first time. After pushing for that long it kinda just makes all your hard work seem like a waste when they tell you your going to have to have a csection. I must add it didnt help that my dr. told me I was a failure,, of corse shes not my dr any more.
