Bible Accountability

We've had a similar thread before, although has been several years- and we tried to read the Bible in a year. It was honestly wonderful, and if I'm going to spend time on BG, I should try to make it as productive as possible.

I don't expect everyone to want to read the same Bible plan (the one I'm doing is basically called "The Plan For Slackers") But perhaps a central location for accountability, challenges, praise music, etc. If I'm going to spend time on BG, I need to remember to focus on "whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things." Phil 4:8.

So, if you'd like to just remain accountable/encouraged in your walk with the Lord, join up. I need something like this, so I assume it is safe to assume others do, too.

I'll join! I'm really bad about reading my Bible, but I would love a place to go to ask parenting advice that was Bible-based.

I'll try to be consistent about posting something every day, that way it's showing up for others as a reminder and whatnot.

We love it, too. We were challenged a few months ago to spend 15 minutes, every single day, specifically for praise. So, we did so with music. The kids/husband and I would go to youtube, and choose 1 or two praise songs each. Took 15-20 minutes, and we'd just sit in the living room and worship it. It has made such a difference in our lives.

Let's try bumping this over the next several days...so it doesn't get buried under new posts. Is that allowed?

Me...me...me - I need some accountability. I am using "Your Daily Walk" by Bruce Wilkinson. It was recommended to me by someone in our women's bible study and has been going great, as long as I can find the time to do it. Now that school is back in, Gavin has football, our home remodel going on, I am teaching Sunday School to 13 very eager 3, 4 and 5 year olds...I feel like I am having a harder and harder time getting to it. Our Pastor has also gave us a daily devotional for the Psalms and has asked that we read one a day. I try to do this over breakfast with the kids, but somedays I just don't "feel like it" and I know those are the days when I need to do it the most.

Certainly. I figure as long as we're posting daily, it will be much easier to find. I can try to be really consistent about that (a daily song, quote from something I've read...whatever it may be.) But the more the merrier!

I'm in   I'm trying to get more in touch with my faith. Its important to DH and I to raise dd in a Christian home and I need to get more involved in order to do that

I understand about the days you don't "feel like it". Man, those days are rough for me.

Right now, I feel like I have an insane number of balls in the air.
1. Reading The God Makers for small group. Thankfully, only 1 chapter a week.
2. Reading Embracing the Spirit by Swindoll for "fun" (ha, totally convicting, but amazing.)
3. Precept study.

Welcome! Raising our kids to intimately know Christ is the most important thing to me, so I totally get it!
