Ugh BG disappoints me so badly sometimes. Every time I see a post just to make fun of Christianity I begin to type out a retort(usually something smart*ss), and then I'm reminded I should ignore it. It is SOOOO hard not to reply to ignorant crap making fun of our creator and those who follow the faith. It takes every ounce of me sometimes not to make posts making fun of atheists. Just gonna pray about it and pray for them.   Of all the things I see on BG, these are the things that really get under my skin.

I totally understand. Sometimes I chime in and put in my two cents, politely. Some of the people who claim to be so "open minded" about things are the most closed minded people.

I feel like that too. Ugh, I could say so many things but I find it very difficult to find the words to make myself as polite as possible. So I always end up typing out a big long reply, and read it over to see how it might come off, and then I'm reminded it's best to say nothing at all. Frustrating.

Most of the time, that's exactly how I feel. That's why most of the time I stay out of the D&D boards. That's where most are. Like if its an honest polite conversation I don't mind going in. But if it's bashing Christianity and my beliefs, then yeah, I dislike it and while its hard to stay away from because you want to defend your beliefs sometimes its just better to say nothing at all.

You are so right. I enjoy D&D, but a lot of the time it does turn to bashing. I've learned to not even touch certain topics. People don't know how to be respectful to somebody for having an opinion based on my faith. I'm not allowed to shove my beliefs down their throats(which I don't), but they can force their non-religious views down mine.

No, I completely agree with you 100%. It's the major downside to BG. Honestly, I asked Mara if we could have a religion board (for all religions), but I never heard anything back about it.

Mara is a staunch atheist. So you probably won't get much from her there. But we have this thread and it's awesome.
I get where you are both coming from...I often feel the same way. I guess I mostly just shrug it off because I don't want to argue with people who will never see any other side but their own.

To me, it's not about making people see things my way. But the misinformation that is given by believers and nonbelievers alike, is astonishing.

... if I see one more person compare homosexuality to eating shellfish, I might scream. I have had countless people PM me and thank me for putting truth out into these threads. BG is a particularly dreadful hotspot for atheists and what is an atheists work? To spread misinformation and doubt. I think it's important to consider, not only the people who are in the thread, but also the people passing by, just reading.

That is true....and yes the old testament analogies get old.
I've given facts presented in the bible before and some people tend to rip to shreds....that's when I say well, okay, you don't want to believe, you don't have too. I'm just telling you what the bible says.

Well hello stranger!

So my sister and I have had a rocky relationship for a long time and we are trying to patch it up over the last 5 or so months. Anyway, tonight she calls me all nervous and reveals to me that she is starting to practice Wiccan. She was nervous to tell me because I am Christian. I felt bad that she was scared to tell me....but that was definitely an interesting conversation.
