Oh, I understand that! I either do it before they wake, or after they go to bed. I guess my point is, I've had to learn to make my relationship with Chris a priority - ya know? And then, rely on Him to give me the strength to do it each day.

Ladies, I sometimes watch the OWN network. I like some of the women cop shows and The Will. However, a commercial keeps coming on for Oprah's Lifeclass with Pastor Rick Warren. I read up a little bit about him. I know Oprah doesn't follow "Christianity" the way that I view it, she believes the "New Age Christ." So I just wanted to know more about him before I watched the episode.

I wouldn't go for anything by Rick Warren necessarily... I think he's part of the emergent church I believe.

Rick warren is pretty solid and has written some really good books.
Just because Oprah is having him on doesnt mean he believe everything she does.
But yeah from his books I have read, he seems normal and solid in his doctrine.

I just know nothing about him. This is the first time I ever heard of him. So that's why I thought I would ask. I know he may not believe everything she does but I wanted to make sure he was a good true pastor before I watched.

Yeah I understand. He is. He wrote "The Purpose Driven Life" among others.
It's a great book and the church he is apart of is also a great church.

There are some things that I find a little bothersome with him, BUT....I try to remember that I am not to put ANY pastor on a pedestal. It's all about Christ. Not Pastor Warren, Pastor Tom, Pastor Harry, or Pastor Whatever. Spending time in God's word is the key, that way we know God and we can see for ourselves what is deceptive or false.

I completely agree. I just didn't want to waste my time if he is completely out there.

Take what you read, hear, and see and align it with what God's word actually says. That's really all we can do with anyone that we're listening to, ya know?

Exactly  . This is the best we can do.

I'm struggling with my memorization and making time to get into God's word a little bit. I tend to start to struggle, get discouraged, and then just walk away until I can't take it anymore. I *really* don't want to do that, I need my time with God so desperately.

Whats stressing you out? Do u feel like your brain is fried or that you cannot memorize it fast enough?

I'll pray for you hun. I've been struggling as well. I feel like I never have time with school and now the kids are sick.

No, I feel like my sin keeps reeling me back in and then I want to hide from God. It's a vicious cycle that I really struggle with.
