re: Bible Accountability

Awesome!! Does hubby do any of this with you or help keep you motivated? We struggle enough trying to continue our relationship books. We do good for awhile then it stops   we try to focus on relationship building right now over actual bible reading. But before bed we do fall asleep to his bible reader app on his phone. But we try to focus more on building a strong relationship so our children have a nice strong family foundation. I feel like if we're not strong then our children won't have stability. And we still have a few things were working out so I think it's important for us to work on those things so they don't linger on and cause bitterness in our relationship. But it's nice relating the bible verses in the books to our relationship and developing a sense of the morals we want to uphold in our relationship.

Hun I say this with love..... focus on both of you getting where you need to be with God..... The rest will follow. Don't worry about relationship books, especially if its hard finding the time to continue with them. Read the bible together, pray together... Get closer to God and your relationship with your husband will get better

You said that very well! Our old Pastor always said that marriage is like a triangle, the two of you on the bottom sides, and God at top. The closer you move to God, the closer you move towards each other. It is so true!

Wow!! I don't know if I could memorize a whole book. That's awesome. Praying for you.
I start the Daniel Fast on the 3rd and will be reading through the whole New Testament in 21 days. Prayers for strength to stick to it!!

That's a lot of reading.
I'm excited that DH is doing it with me. Normally, it's me fasting by myself.

we are definitely keeping it with god. It's just not the bible, but books that refer to the bible to help us understand the things we struggle with.

The relationship ones are Christian based. Like well do the couples devotionals. And I have some trust issues so Were reading a book by a pastors wife about her journey with trust and her husband. It has helped us a lot see what god wants for us and our relationship and How to cope with my feelings so I'm not being bitter or resentful in our relationship. There's lots of praying together in the books and bible verses.

I forgot to answer, no, DH doesn't do it with me. I've memorized a few chapters out of Psalms and various verses, but I really want to have more of a challenge. I know two people who have memorized Colossians, so I'm using them both for accountability.
