One day the baby is going to have to get used to being away from her... church is a good environment for that. I don't see any need to judge her here. Some babies hate being left. I had two like that. I had to let them get over it. It's good for them.

It's not day care in most churches.. it's class! I happen to have spent the past 6 years teaching sunday school. They learn a lot.

And some day she shall.
I had parents that used to leave their baby with me in the childrens class(5-9) year olds. He would just cry and cry. I always had to get them for every service. He was almost 2 when he finally stopped. Every child is different. I'm hoping that since I'm going back to work part time she'll adjust better to me not always being around.

I worked in the kids church and nursery at my old church and the one I am a member of now and never heard of such a thing. We had rules in place, but we always respected the parent's wishes and worked with them to fit the needs of their child. If you've been praying about it and you can't find peace I would have a talk with her. You can't help if she is going to take it personally or be offended. I don't know if it's just because of the changes or if God may be leading you somewhere else, but if it's the second one, I wouldn't let the history be what makes you stay.

I am looking for dinner ideas..
Whenever someone has a baby in our church people volunteer to make meals for the family once they come home (three days for a regular birth, five for a c-section). I volunteered, but I don't know anything about the family and for once I am trying not to stress myself out (I'm a picky eater, I find it difficult to make food the way that most people prefer it). Any ideas on what would be good to make them? Or just be willing to share your family's favorite meal?

A nice, really easy one I like to make is BBQ shredded chicken. Put 4-5 thawed boneless chicken breasts in a crockpot and season them. I use BBQ rub and a little chipotle seasoning for spice. Let them cook for a few hours until they can shred easily. Add BBQ sauce and stir. It is great on buns. Heat 2-3 cans of green beans in another crockpot for the veggie. Take a bag of chips and some applesauce with you and presto! Warm meal that will have leftovers.

This lovely state I'm from passed the "Death with Dignity" law. You can now get a script of meds to off yourself if you have a "terminal illness". Wow.
