Copper Coil

I got it fitted last thursday, just over a week ago and iv getting quite bad cramps 'down there' in my bum and the 'other' place haha. normal? had a slight bleed yday aswell small spots of blood when i wiped after going to the toilet .... advice? TIA x

Is that the paragard? I this is the second time I see someone talk about this birth control and it has all been today. If it is, never heard of it being called that way, it's normal to cramp and spot. The first 3 months are just about getting used to it, it gets better.

You may experience a heavier and more crampy period than normal. I did when I had it. And I mean "bled like a stuck pig" heavy. Clots and all. It will take some getting used to.

Also, make sure you always check your strings to make sure it's still in place. My OB cut mine too short and I have a very high cervix and short fingers, so I could never feel mine...and I ended up getting pregnant because it expelled during one of my periods without me knowing. So definitely check those strings!! Especially after your period when your uterus is actively cramping in order to expel the blood and uterine lining.

if this is my period then great - its only really bloody discharge but cramping hurts quite a bit! my OH can feel my strings he ses haha, surely though u would know if it comes out? they arent exactly small?not sure if its the paraguard or not its the one with no hormones in xx

Mine was hanging out of my cervix and I didn't feel a thing. I couldn't reach to check the strings, so I had no idea it was out. My ex said he thought he "felt something up there" after we had sex one time and I assumed it was the strings, so I shrugged it off (it was too late, anyhow lol). But no, I didn't feel a thing at all until my OB removed it in the office.

Mine was the copper coil without the hormones and it was called ParaGard. I don't know if there's more than one copper IUD.

im not sure the name of mine but its the same as yours   OH checked strings were there the other day haha i cant reach either!!!
