my best advice i could give anybody trying to train their baby is to start a routine and stick with it to the tee

EX: 8pm lotion up with or without a bath. put pjs on, read to them while feeding them, and put them in bed with you or lay them in their own bed.

do this every night and i swear every night at this time they will be out like a lamp. if they wake up DO NOT turn on any lights and be loud and play with them, get them calm and comfy and help them get back to sleep so that they will reconize that day time is for play and lights out is for sleep

And I apologized to her after.

Edit: I thought I was in a different conversation, one about just CIO, not sleep training.

Yep. Thats what we did. Started a routine. Its not always at the same time, within an hour or two but he usually falls right out after the lights go off.

What do you mean people like me? People who get threads a little mixed up and make a mistake, then see the mistake and promptly apologize? lol.

I'm not gonna get into this with you.

All is good. Lets let this go.

No people that dont do CIO but yet still come in to add your 2 cents of bullsmurf.

Stick to your "non-cio" threads.

I think the word training is what made her (and me when i read it just now) go    as it is generally a negative term.
I see nothing wrong with getting into a good routine, but I would also say don't force it. I've always let DD follow her own cues with sleep and she started verbally asking to go to bed between 7pm and 8pm, and wakes up around 7-8am. 18 months may sound like a really long time to wait but she knows what she's doing
We always did the bed boobie bath routine around the same time, but she still wouldn't always be tired at the same times until a few months ago.
I'm glad you found what worked for you
