We have a homeless population of roughly 25,000. There simply aren't enough resources to help them all, and certainly not enough jobs.

I have never had a bad experience with a panhandler. I never give money simply because I don't carry it, but I've bought food and water many times and it's always been accepted with gratitude.

I had a man walk up to me outside my husbands work when he was a manager at Wendys. He asked for money for food, I had a few free meal cards we kept just for that purpose, he refused--- I guess he wasn't that hungry.

What I don't understand is there are so many organizations out there to help people get jobs, to give people shelter for a few days, state aid, etc. So why aren't some people doing that? That's why I don't give people asking for money, money. Plus, I don't really have much of my own.
