What kinds of cold/flu meds can I take while breastfeeding? I feel like complete crap. I took some robetussin because I was told it was okay to take but now Im scared to nurse. I made sure it was alcohol free and is non drowsy. Is it okay to nurse him and what is safe to take?
Most are safe since very little of whayou consume is in your milk. But te problem u do risk is things with phlenyphrine(sp?) can dry your milk up (not ckmoletely vit enough to make baby frusterated at the sudden lack of milk) because it is like sudafed and meant to dry up your sinuses. I took sudafed a lot and was fine supply wise but for moms who struggle with supply or Hve easily frustrated babies I wouldn't recommend it.
