help with research...maybe. warning! nudity! (SNs)

posted 22nd Sep
I know an arched back is normal but I've recently noticed my son's posture seems extreme. He has aspergers among other things and I'm starting to worry he may have some skeletal or muscular malformation as well.

I can't post pics because I'm on my phone but Quen will be posting the pic I sent her shortly.

Sorry for the darkness, I had to sneak a pic in order to catch him in his normal posture.

Can someone help me research what this may be? I know ultimately I'll have to speak with a doctor but he's got so many different ones....I don't know which to speak with.

It does seem like an extreme curve. Has his Pedi or doctor noticed it? And I would start with the Primary care dr and get a referral to a specialist.

hmmm did he arch his back a lot when he was smaller? I've noticed cam standing kinda like that, but its not as obviously curved. and he leans back a lot when i hold him, so im wondering if thats why

yea thats extreme... i would def. bring it up because i think they would maybe want to possibly put him in a backbrace of some sort esp so it doesnt get worse

I agree, it does seem like an extreme curve. I'd definitely be making an appointment to have it checked out

That looks a bit on the extreme side. I would have the doctor look at it.

It's called kyphosis. Here's just one link I found, haven't read through it all.

You're totally right, Kyphosis is the top part of the spine , like you have a hump back.
