posted 22nd Sep
Halloween is not far away and i need to start making my daughters costume , problem is , I have no idea what she should be.She is 4 years old. She won't wear anything that has a hat or hood. She also won't wear anything that is frilly or puffy she has sensory processing issues so alot of fabrics upset her. She is has non-verbal autism so she cant tell me what she wants to be. Does anyone have ideas for a costume?

Get a regular orange shirt and paint the face like a jack-o-latern onto it. She can be a pumpkin. Get green or black pants to go with it. Yes it's not much, but you can find those things in materials that you know won't upset her.

Is there a certain fabric she does like? My son likes that velvety fabric. If so, use that kind of fabric and make her a costume. If she likes animals make her her favorite animal, something she will be excited about. My son Ty, age 7, will finally wear regular Halloween costumes. Before, I just did the best I could to figure out what he would wear versus what he wouldn't. It's hit or miss. ) Anymore I just play off his obsessions he has at the time. It has become much easier these days! Best of luck!

She could be a robot. Tight fitting silver top and bottom with red, green, yellow, blue painted cardboard circles attached on each shoulder and down her tummy. And black fabric around ankles, knees, waist, elbow, shoulder, wrist to look like the joints. Or make her red or pink to be a girl robot
